Areti believes that each person deserves to be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect in the workplace. She champions the rights of workers from all walks of life. She achieves resolution of employment matters in a tenacious, skillful, and empowering way.

Areti developed a niche practice in unemployment insurance law at Fabian May & Anderson, PLLP, and worked at Nichols Kaster, PLLP before opening Harmony Law Firm. She has also worked as a legal advocate for battered women.

Areti was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, teaching the Employment Law Clinic. She instructed law students on compassionate and skilled representation of employees in unemployment insurance appeals.

A leader among employment attorneys.

Areti was a Board Member of the Employment Lawyers Association of the Upper Midwest and a Member the Minnesota Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association, serving on the Amicus Committee. She has been respected among her colleagues for her dedication to employment law on behalf of employees.

Areti earned her B.A. in Women’s Studies, magna cum laude, from Brown University. She graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School. She served as Executive Editor of Law and Inequality: A Journal of Theory and Practice, and she published an article on the detention of immigrant youth in America. After graduating from law school, she was privileged to clerk for the Honorable Lloyd Zimmerman in Hennepin County District Court. She has served as a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association, co-chaired the Labor and Employment Section of the Hennepin County Bar Association, and served as Treasurer and Board Member of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
